Designed for simple integration and user convenience allowing complete ticketing transactions.
NXP has developed the MIFARE MF1ICS50 to be used in a contactless smart card according to ISO/IEC 14443 Type A. The MIFARE MF1ICS50 IC is used in applications such as public transport ticketing, where major cities have adopted MIFARE as their preferred e-ticketing solution.
Applications
Anticollision
An intelligent anticollision function makes it possible for more than one card to operate in the field simultaneously. The anticollision algorithm selects each card individually and ensures that the execution of a transaction with a selected card is carried out correctly, without data corruption caused by other cards in the field.
Easy integration and ease of use
The MF1ICS50 is designed for simple integration and ease of use. It can handle complete ticketing transactions in less than 100 ms. This means the MF1ICS50 card user does not need to stop at the reader, resulting in high throughput at gates and reduced boarding times on buses. The MIFARE card can also remain in the wallet during the transaction, even with coins inside.
Security
Various security measures, such as mutual challenge-response authentication, data encryption, and message authenticity checks—support protection of the system against different attack scenarios. The IC’s UID supports the security concept as a basis for key diversification.
