RF IDeas 82 Series card readers are designed for customers seeking to leverage their existing employee ID badges by integrating them into applications beyond door access. This unified platform of products is engineered to work with nearly all proximity, contactless and magnetic stripe card technologies, providing error-free identification to over a billion cards worldwide.

The 82 Series readers integrate into your software or hardware product through the use of the RF IDeas Universal Software Developer Kit (SDK). In contrast to the Enroll readers, the 82 Series uses a callable DLL or other direct integration methods rather than keystroking (emulating a keyboard device). These low cost readers deliver the card ID in a format that applications recognize, offering nearly limitless possibilities for user identification and authentication.

Non-Keystroking

The USB model connects directly via any USB port. Unlike the pcProx 13.56 MHz Enroll product the 82 series does not use keystroking to send it's info but instead uses a callable DLL or serial ASCII command protocol for the USB virtual COM device.

Advanced semiconductor technology is based on 13.56 MHz frequency to comply with numerous ISO standards. Readers can read data from cards compliant with the following standards: ISO 15693-Vicinity, ISO 14443-Type A.

Supports any operating system with USB support: Windows® 98SE/2000/XP, Vista, Sun, Citrix®, UNIX®, Linux, thin clients and more.

Easy software integration of contactless cards

The optional software developer’s kit includes several high level commands which allows third-party developers to set contactless products in just a couple of days. This enables medical, time and attendance, PC log-on, and other multiauthentication applications to interface easily with contactless cards. The output is transferred to the application via a callable DLL or ASCII command protocol.
